Reacting to Heartbreak High - Episode 7

Goooood evening beautiful people,

Welcome back to another episode of Heartbreak High!

Apologies this video is so late! I have been trying to upload for the past couple of hours but it seems Patreon are having issues with their servers!

On a note for uploads: For the next week or so I will be uploading in the evening as I have a lot of client work to get done over the next couple of weeks (trying to get it all wrapped up asap before the big move back down south!)

ANYWAY - HBH! This episode... wow... there are no words. I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Love, always! ♥️

I feel like the way Cash explained how he felt to Darren in the corridor is exactly how I feel and I think I've felt it for years but never really understood it. I'm fine with kissing and cuddling but if it went any further I pulled away, kinda like a brick wall going up. I never really understood why until Cash told Darren. I'm glad he made it to them before the cops caught him as Darren needed to know how Cash really felt about him.

I had to psych myself up to watch this video, as it is always an emotional one for me. However, I KNEW that your handling of Cash’s coming out (as homoromantic asexual) would be nuanced and thoughtful. His description of how he experiences attraction is so, so similar to mine. I think that so many people believe that sex has to be part of a relationship, and that being okay with kissing/hand-holding/etc means that you will be open to sex at some point. As an Ace person in a long-term relationship, I always feel invalidated when people say/imply that I can’t be asexual if I’m a mother and wife. There needs to be so much more awareness raising of asexuality, even within the queer community. PS - I love that your reaction to this video was released during Ace Awareness Week. 🖤🩶🤍💜

I'm sure this show is wonderful, but it's a bit too heavy for me, so I think I'll give it a miss. But I'm fine with that as we can't all like the same thing.

That’s so true. It’s a twist on showing that sportsball guys can be gay, in the same vein as “don’t assume”.

i love the character arcs of darren and ca$h and their interactions in the show SO much. not only is it great representation.. but ca$h being portrayed as an "eshay" but still being sensitive is an amazing way of showing that peoples outward appearance doesnt necessarily dictate their personality, sexuality, genuineness.

this episode is a lot - but the next is even moreso (as i'm sure you've guessed). you'll see why i've said this once you watch it - but please chuck a trigger warning at the beginning of the video or the start of the actual episode. i've seen a few reactors watch the next episode and it is a very different feel from the rest of the season. it contains a lot of themes which could be traumatic for people and just in case people havent seen it yet, it's probably good to give them a heads-up that it could be traumatic for them. as always jackie, love your reactions. you're so thoughtful and caring and love your commentary on all of the shows you watch.

“Am I too much?” “Yes. But you’re MY too much” Friendship goals 💜 Darren had 2 of the best conversations in the whole show this ep. So great to hear that Ca$h’s story resonates, it was the main reason for recommending this show for your channel.

The corridor scene between Darren and Ca$h was so emotional and pure. I had a feeling that you would connect especially to that scene. 🫶🏽

Frances

The whole show is a little bit ridiculous but we love it for the rep.

I wholly agree, I don’t know what to say…I very much wanted to give you a hug after the scene with Darren and Ca$h. I think I am going to have to sit and sort through my thoughts, perhaps watch through again, there was a lot in this episode to take in…

The interweaving storylines is done soooo tastefully. Yes, the protest was a bit dumb, but it was also necessary to the plotline. I feel so sad for the Cash and Darren situation. Darren is so lost and confused about how Cash feels, and how he feels about hopefully making it work with him; then Cash being equally confused and trying to figure out his sexuality and as he said, not wanting to fuck it up. My heart. I never trusted Dusty from the beginning and I got so mad when I found out it was him and the guys who did it. I figured Spider, but oof. This ending had me reeling about everything with Harper and maybe finally getting a glimpse into what the hell is going on with her; in addition to Amerie's realization about the cake situation. SO much to unpack, and I can't wait to see your reaction to the last episode.
