Reacting to Our Flag Means Death - Episode 10 (Season Finale!!!!)
Added 2024-01-03 06:00:04 +0000 UTCGoooooooooood morning beautiful Patreon family,
So I had to come home for some work stuff for a couple of days so with that I was able to get this video finished... wahoooooo!
So I can't lie there was a moment when I really wasn't sure if I was going to continue with this show but the last few episodes have really grabbed me and this season finale BLEW ME AWAY.
I can't wait to jump in to Season 2 sooner rather than later!
Love, always ♥️

Even though it wasn’t as funny as earlier episodes, it was meatier and more emotional. Not that they weren’t funny parts, and as it has been true of this series all along, it was fun to see an unexpected familiar face in Kristen Johnston as the widow with the eyepatch. My big question, as someone who hasn’t seen any of the second season, is if they really killed off Lucius. I’m hoping that he somehow reemerges.

I am so glad you enjoyed this show, I really thought it would be something you would enjoy! Looking forward to season 2 (I have not watched because I wanted to watch with you) so this also was a good refresher, as I had forgotten a lot that happened…

2024-01-03 19:21:17 +0000 UTCI think Blackbeard was always a facade. Once he found Stede, he had an opportunity to be his true self and show some vulnerability. When that vulnerability backfired so spectacularly after their kiss because Stede never showed up at the dock, Ed felt so betrayed that it was probably only a matter of time before he put on the mask of Blackbeard again, for his own survival (having no real tools available to him to deal with his emotions). I think even without Izzy pushing him down that road it would have happened eventually. Their kiss was (intentionally written as) a high school/first kiss feel, very awkward. Stede had to be told what love felt/looked like by Mary, and Blackbeard had such a teenage reaction to being ghosted... depression pit of a room, pillow fort, bad breakup songs, and ultimately returning to this persona of someone who doesn't need anyone else, except now he has the painful knowledge that he does actually need Stede. They may technically be adults, but emotionally they're both teenage boys.
