2024-09-21 02:04:23 +0000 UTCI often wonder how long Charlie would have carried the pain & damage of what Ben did to him if Nick hadnโt come along. Because he never talked about Ben with his other friends. He couldnโt without outing him & Charlie would never do that. Had Nick not witnessed it & then become such a huge support for Charlie, can you just imagine how far he might have spiraled? Itโs heartbreaking to think about. And the fact that his friends eventually know heโs not doing well, but they donโt know all the reasons. It just adds so many layers to the story. Alice really is a genius, the way she wrote all of this.

2024-09-19 22:26:39 +0000 UTCI had forgotten until recently that the dinner scene happens much later in the comic and would normally happen in season three if the show followed the same chronology. But I think it really does work very well here. Itโs also interesting to compare Nickโs confrontation with his father to Willeโs confrontation with his parents in episode 5 of season 3 of Young Royals, where the tone is so very different. I do like how very controlled and reasonable Nick sounds here. Definitely a lot of powerful and significant scenes in this episode.
