Re:Zero Season 2 Episode 8 Reaction

In my personal opinion I do not like the new format. I watch you guys on my phone. When the screen is that small it can be difficult to read the subtitles. So I have to cast it to my Xbox. But that is iffy and sometimes it works on the first try and other times it takes longer than I would like.

Even though im fairly enjoying the series i must say at some point his suffering stopped making me feel anything The anime is nothing but despair and torture with a maybe 5% of happyness At this point i cant stop thinking the author just trys to think up ways to make someone suffer even more and implement it. At this point i just wish the author would finally progress the story instead of trying to make me feel something every fuckin episode. I already said it in many other animes. If you try to make me cry every episode, at some point it doesnt bother me anymore. Everything has to come in moderation

I just don’t get how Jouten can say people are misleading him/overhyping rezero episodes in recent weeks. I’m not whining and I don’t think this show is perfect but I think what he said ignores all these huge developments for the series and for Subaru. If you want more fights that’s totally cool I get it, I would too, but these emotional moments are HEAVY and the show is really nailing them. In episode 7 Otto was the first person to call Subaru their friend for the whole year or more he’s been in this world. It’s just so sad how Subaru never even considered that as a possible reason Otto would help him. That episode also had tons of new information around Beatrice, Garfiel, and Frederica. In episode 8 you can apply the same situation where the whole time he has been in this world he has never been able to tell any person what is happening to him or explain that he isn’t crazy/a witch cultist and so on. Idk if the “smoke” Jouten was expecting was all fights and do or die situations, but the reality is just that people really enjoyed this really well done emotional scene with Subaru and Echidona. I’ll admit several of the episodes before this were slow or dragged (with the exception of the episode where he takes the first trial). But I think it’s unreasonable to say this show is a snoozefest just because there aren’t any crazy action sequences (meanwhile there have been huge stakes throughout this whole arc about getting back to the mansion). The show is not perfect but it’s starting to give us all these juicy story details while Subaru is hitting his lowest points in the whole series.

To be honest, this is the most brutal Subaru has ever faced currently even in the web novel. Just to add some details, his death was way gorier than what we got here since they need it to be not that gory. The rabbits ate Subaru inside out. Some went inside his mouth and some went through his backdoor and ate his internal organs. Just a reminder, the whole season 2 will cover the whole Arc 4 and this arc has more content than what we got before that's why they are making it 2 cours.
