If one of the Nine "Titans" dies without passing on his/her Titan, that Titan's power will be given to an unborn Eldian child. I am anime only, like you guys, so I have no more information than you, but watching your guy's reactions again after I had already watched the series really helped me to understand more of what's going on in earlier episodes.
