Hi patrons!! How are you? 💖
This has been a crazy week for me honestly and still figuring out how to cope with certain things. I'm feeling low on inspiration and incapable to finish all the things I wanna do right now. I miss my parents, I haven't seen them since February! and since my country went into lock-down due to the virus on March, I've been in quarantine for almost 54 days now. I thought I was okay dealing with it, but these past few days it started to feel... heavy, for sure.
I also had a couple of great news this week so it feels weird to be sad and tired, I should be more happy! but I'm not. I'm sure it's just a phase. How are you guys dealing with this situation?
Some quick news:
✦ A few weeks ago I mentioned you I got an email from Upper Deck, a company that makes collectible trading cards. Well, I finally had some updates on that and seems like I'll be working with them on a Marvel project (can't really tell a lot about it until they give me the green light) but I'm excited!
✦ I was contacted by Copic argentina 😭 (the representatives of Copic Markers from my country) and they want to collaborate with me in the future. I got so excited!! I know a lot of well-known artists do collaborations but I never received myself that kind of offers nor less from such a huge brand (that I'm super interested in!!)
✦ They encouraged me to be part of the Copic Award that's going on right now which I had no idea about and I wanted to encourage YOU to participate too! Because it sounds like such a cool event and the prizes are INCREDIBLE, and there will be a lot of winners, not just one. Take a look at the page and read the details https://copicaward.com/ you can also see the winner entries of the past years! I'll definitely be creating something to participate as soon as I get an idea. I'll keep you updated on that :)
✦ Yesterday DC asked me to be part of a video promoting our comic Primer, which means 1- talking in front of a camera. 2- talking in front of a camera in English. This is stressing me so much because I WANT TO DO IT so bad, I just don't feel capable. It's truly a horrible sensation. I'll let you know how that goes D:
Anyways, here's a little work in progress of a special commission I'm doing for the Creators4comics (an initiative to support comic shops & indie bookstores by holding online Twitter auctions to directly benefit the Book Industry Charitable Foundation) it's a character named Grace from the comic book Soulfire. I just discovered her and her design is so beautiful!

And here's a new illustration I finished this morning:

That's it for today guys, I hope I didn't bore you too much with my life dilemmas.
If you had participated on my new DTIYS, I'll be sharing your drawings on my IG stories soon! Social media has been a bit draining for me lately so I'm taking it slowly, but I'll make sure to do it!
Also, we reached our first goal here, which means it's time for COMICS! I'll make sure to do a proper post celebrating 🌈 Thank you so much for your support!!!
Hugs,
Gret
