As always, fantastic reaction and breakdown. I watched this SNL episode at about 2am this morning so, I was wowed with it in the moment half awake, but I’m leaning more towards your takeaway on playbacks.

That would be fantastic and would silence the crowd that don’t understand how much of her vocals in general are are musical/artist choices and isn’t a reflection of limited vocal ability. I do agree that it wasn’t groundbreaking compared to bigger chances she’s taken on previous SNL lives though.
