This. Inward bass needs an open throat with lots of air

It seems like your attempts at inward bass are getting caught on your soft palette/uvula, giving you that snore-y resonance through your nose. I've only recently figured out how to do it and the big trick is that nothing above your arytenoid/false folds should be obstructing air flow. I find that flattening/pushing down my tongue helps a lot. Also the pitch of your head makes a big difference. Try emptying your lungs completely and suck in a full chest of air at a medium-fast speed - Maybe ~2 seconds to completely fill your lungs - and experiment by moving your chin up and down until you find a sweet spot where you feel a ton of resonance in your adams apple and no obstruction in your upper vocal structures. Try to keep the channel between your mouth and your larynx as straight and relaxed as possible. It's all about staying loose so those larger tissues have room to oscillate. Also to your point try keeping your mouth completely closed and only inhale through your nose. This should prevent any air escaping your nose and keep that high-end snoriness to a minimum
