DIMASH First Listen/Full Vocal Analysis 'Love's Not Over Yet'

I have to say, I am a bit embarrassed that I didn't deeply get what the video and song were about until the end of my second listen-through. I was so blown away by the musical elements and vocal techniques during my first pass that I had a hard time taking it all in at once.

However, it did really hit me hard by the end of the 2nd listen-though. This song is truly powerful and a beautiful message for humanity.

'Love's Not Over Yet' is an inspiring song and music video about how we need to keep our hearts open to love even after we have experienced trauma or extreme loss.

Given the state of world affairs, this feels very poignant right now for so many. I love his commitment to making the world a better place. What a beautiful soul.

Cheers,

Tim

Loved your reaction, Tim. The video and audio are both roller coaster rides. I love the gracefully ascending choral melody and Dimash's artful and nuanced development of it each time he repeats it. I've grown very attached to the melody of the verses as well, and that bridge is such a beautiful touch as well. Thanks for pointing out things I hadn't noticed. This was the first time I realized how he held off emphasizing the chest resonance in the lower notes of the chorus and gradually added that aspect in as the story developed. Thanks for reacting to this. More Dimash and more Lara Fabian, please!

Hi Tim you mentioned trying to understand the relationship between Dimash and the Wife charecter. One thing about Dimash he is a Devout Muslim and comes from a conservative family so you will rarely if ever see casual intimacy or overtly sexual imagery in his performance. Things that Americans barely notice is just a bit to overt he puts all the passion, fear, longing ect...into his voice not overt physicality. If you watch from that POV you may see the emotional ties better. The When Ive got you video and Smoke performance video are probably the closest you will see that I can think of and those are super tame by American standards. He was once asked why he sang Hello so differently from L Richie. He basically said since he had not found his forever person he did not feel comfortable singing as if he KNEW someone was his. This was around 2018 so I am not saying that is true now I don't know but it is a peek into the thought process that he lives under.
