Lots of dancing elements, but some other sounds as well. Very big bright ringing resonant singing on almost every track, so many vocal layers too.
Lady Gaga was really swinging for the fences on this one, and I do feel she hit it out of the park. What an amazing artist, she deserves all the success she has.

To me Killah sounds like Beck's album Midnite Vultures, which apparently sounds like Prince, so your comment makes sense to me on that light. I've been listening to this album a lot but had not paid attention to the layering and panning of the vocals, so thanks for that insight. For some reason the song I come back to the most on this album is Perfect Celebrity, I feel like anything that sounds a little rock is likely to attract me. Thanks for the listen!

2025-04-14 10:27:54 +0000 UTCI just finished listening and, frankly, I'm a bit overwhelmed. I really liked this album and found it full of pleasant surprises, yet I was very glad that the last two songs took a different turn. All the brassiness, all the funk were getting to me just a bit. After a while, the songs all seemed to bleed into one another. I think I will be happier when I listen to the songs one at a time. I wonder if the last two songs were placed where they were to purposely bring us down just a bit, for a softer landing?
