Lara Fabian-'Calling You' Reaction

Shout out to Kevin for this reaction. Kevin is one of my SUPER AMBASSADOR LEVEL Patrons. As part of this tier, he has the ability once a month to request a song for me to react to that I share exclusively for you all over here on PATREON.

This is a beautiful song that Lara sings in English named 'Calling You.' What a magical and expressive performance this was from her.

Cheers!

Tim

Thank you Kevin

Tim Lara is a polygot ( speaks more than 4 languages) do you think that helps her with her agility and other aspects of singing??

You can tell this is an intimate concert because she wears her nightgown during the whole concert. If you want to see Lara get real wild and sexy see her duet with Johnny Halladay.

Great cover this one! This I believe is from a movie, the original singer has a big soul/gospel sort of voice, and I think Lara does it justice. This concert is pure magic, the acoustic instrumentation allow her voice to shine even more, and it has those little theatric moments between songs that connect them nicely and add to the "intimate" atmosphere. And yeah she showcases a lot of agility in a lot of songs, really interesting vocal arrangements.

Merci Eric! And yes, I've heard it said, 'OMG her speaking voice, she should do Children's Books on Tape, its as emotional as her beautiful "Voix chantante". ' In all of her fluent languages. "Kev"

The original singer, Jevetta Steele, was so impressed by Lara’s cover that she invited her to sing it in duet with her on her own US tv show. The song had been covered by the greatests before and after (Celine Dion, Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, Jeff Buckley, George Benson, George Michael, …) but that one really impressed her.

Your comment on riffing is so true. Lara explained this was not natural to her. She was not from the R&B culture, she is from a more classical white culture, but she was attracted to it. Here , in this recent interview, she explained she listened and replayed Vision of Love by Mariah about 50,000 times to master it spontaneously enough to make it natural for her and inject her own emotions, diction and "story living" into it. She was slowing down the pace of the song to train herself. https://youtube.com/shorts/UJE0fnUxwOA?si=m0EGQTDo6LZBRqMc
