It is a confusing topic, and as the former manager of a doggy daycare, I can affirm that the practice is far more prevalent (especially among wealthy women!) than most people realize, or would care to believe. Most dogs will have a friendly sniff at a crotch, but you could always tell the ones who had been trained to service their owners by their inability to get their face out a a staff member's crotch. The dogs actually end up jonesing for human pussy. Agree with Kat Kel's comment about the ambiguity of the consent issue. As an animal rights activist I am a lot more concerned about things like the dog meat & fur trade, and active abuse of animals, than something like this. So, weirdly, I taught a seminar on the Minotaur where we talked about this A LOT. I think what we kind of decided (the class, I was just the innocent prof) was that modern sexual ethics are derived largely from consent (i.e. a sexual behavior is moral so long as all parties are consenting), but animals complicate this ethic. On one hand, you could argue that animals, not possessing reason(i.e. higher level thinking), can't consent and so any sex involving animals in immoral/unethical. On the other hand, we do lots of stuff to animals to which they don't consent and to which they probably wouldn't consent given the opportunity and/or capacity. We eat them, wear them, dress them up at Halloween, etc. So, yeah, moral gray area. [And, yes, there are parents out there who paid for their 19-year-olds to sit with me every Wednesday night and talk about this. Ain't life grand?!]

This is fucked up. BUT if the dog topped then I guess it is ok???
