For example, in The 48 Laws of Power, the first law is “Never outshine the master.” That parallels the biblical principle of always putting God first—never trying to elevate yourself above Him. In The Laws of Human Nature, the first law says humans are irrational. The Bible supports that too, saying “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.” It’s interesting how both perspectives, though from different angles, point to similar truths about human nature. A lot of these self-help books actually pull ideas straight from the Bible, whether they say it or not. Most of them focus on the mental aspect—how your mindset shapes your life. But that’s not new… the Bible already said it: “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) the Bible puts even more emphasis on faith—believing in what you can’t yet see. “According to your faith be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29) It’s faith that turns mindset into movement, and belief into breakthrough.
