This week: Animal Symbolism

Hey everyone!

So before I give readings, I like to sit in silence and see if any images come to me. And I noticed that I tend to see animals. At first, I had a tendency to second guess what I was seeing. For example, I once saw an elephant, and thought “I think I’m just seeing that because I think the person I’m reading is Indian, and I’m seeing an elephant deity.” Another time I saw a sparrow and thought “I think I’m just seeing that because it sounds like this person’s name.” But when I shared what I saw with the person, it turned out to be significant: the first person was praying to Ganesha (the elephant deity) while I was praying, and the second person was sometimes called Sparrow as a nickname. When you have these moments of validation before a reading, it really helps to connect you with the person on a much deeper level.

I share this as a reminder that if you give readings, trust your first instincts. You are receiving these messages for a reason. The more you practice, the more you will understand how to interpret what you receive.

Recently, I gave a reading where I saw a vulture, so clearly in my head. Vultures tend to mean that death is near, and I started getting in my own head again: I can’t tell this person death is near, what if that scares them?! So I didn’t say anything yet, and continued to throw the pieces for the reading. Immediately I saw more signs that there was someone sick in their family. I realized then that this was something that needed to be said. So I asked them if there was anyone sick in their family, and they confirmed that there was someone who had been suffering for a while and they were hoping would soon pass peacefully. It was then that I realized that I was putting my own value on death in the moment. For them, the idea of death coming was a gift, not a fear.

DEATH (MOTH)

In Filipino culture, moths represent the spirits of our ancestors, watching over us from beyond the grave. Death is not an ending, but a transition. There is something in your life that has come to its natural conclusion, and now is the time to let it go. The universe wants to give you something beautiful and new, but it can’t until you make the room for it. <3
