The Rubber-Blimp Virus

Scientists have been studying a new pandemic that’s been seen around the world recently, a pandemic that has been nicknamed The Rubber-Blimp Virus, or RBV for short. As the name implies, this virus transforms you into a giant blimp filled with air. So far, they have concluded that this is a rather unusual virus. The chances of getting the virus are less likely than any other virus, so it’s only a matter of time before someone gets chosen. There’s no common cure for it, but it goes away as quickly as it started. The effects of this virus usually follow these eight stages.

Stage 1: You start to get goosebumps all over your body.

Stage 2: Your body will then turn into rubber. You can tell this is happening when you can see your reflection off your skin or you feel unusually flexible.

Stage 3: This is where the blimp part comes in. You will feel air suddenly rushing into your body. In this stage, first your belly will balloon. It will inflate until you look nine months pregnant with twins.

Stage 4: Next comes your chest and butt. They will grow to the size of watermelons. Your back then inflates a bit, rounding you out.

Stage 5: Your limbs will then inflate until they look like supersized gumdrops, leaving your hands and feet alone. Your cheeks will also puff up at this stage, but you can’t blow the air out of you.

Stage 6: This stage will come along at any point. Everything that’s been blown up will resume inflating altogether. By then, you’ll be rendered super light and immobile. You’ll hear the creaking and squeaking sounds of a balloon as you fill up with air, and become transparent. The process won’t stop until you are a perfectly round, transparent sphere, with your hands and feet and head completely muffled inside your body, cheeks puffed up so big you can’t speak, and your body blown up ten times bigger than a hot air balloon.

Stage 7: At this point, the pressure builds up to your limits, and it’ll feel like you’re about to explode. But instead of bursting, all the air escapes out of your mouth, and rather than flying all over the place, you stay on one spot. You will slowly deflate until you are a paper flat version of your original self.

Stage 8: You start to inhale against your will, and you blow up back to your original figure. By then the virus goes away, and you’re officially back to normal.
