Napoleon's Marshals Part 1 - Patreon Early Access

Dear Patrons,

I'm very pleased to share with you the first (ad-free) instalment of the Napoleon's Marshals, er.. series? Well, as you will see, what was supposed to be a quick video ranking all 26 Marshals has become something a bit bigger: mini-biographies of every Marshal, with what I hope you'll think are some interesting details along the way.

In this episode, for example, you'll find out what's inscribed on every French Marshal's baton; which Marshal was friends with the great Revolutionary leader Georges Danton, and which Marshal's greatest victory was assisted by a hot air balloon!

Expert advice for this video was provided by retired Lieutenant Colonel Rémy Porte, former chief historian of the French Army. Rémy has been writing a military history blog (en Francais) for the last 9 years, which you can read here: http://guerres-et-conflits.over-blog.com/

This video will be out on YouTube next Thursday,  but I will post a link here as soon as it's ready for those who prefer YT to Vimeo.

Lastly - you are the first people anywhere to see this video, and in the past you've been very helpful in spotting typos and other mistakes. This time, the first person to spot a typo (if there are any?) will get to claim any one item from the EHTV merch shop for free, as a thank you. (My rulings are final & absolute on who was first and what counts as a typo!)

Thank you all again for your amazing support, I hope you enjoy this video and let me know what you think!

Toby

Yes of course, there are many generals who could easily be included in our list, Reille certainly, but I had to make tough and personal choices. He is a relation, by any chance?!

I am sad that you didn't talk about reille on the most honorable general, would have been a fair spot

Adds amazing depth to this outstanding Napoleonic series, Thank-you Epic History TV.
