Salamis 480 BC - Patreon Early Access

YouTube link: https://youtu.be/Hwz56hBW9KI

Dear Patrons,

I am pleased to share with you 'Salamis 480 BC - The Battle for Greece'. This is the story of how the ancient Greek city-states came together to defeat the world's greatest empire, in a dramatic naval battle fought near Athens. It's one of history's great turning points, and thanks to Herodotus, it's also one of the earliest surviving tales of a struggle for freedom against the odds. And after many months of stop-start production (long story), it's out just in time for the 2,500th anniversary!

I hope you enjoy it. Do please share your thoughts and feedback. I'm particularly interested to know how people feel about the  music and sound effects - too loud, too quiet, just right?

(edit: I forgot to mention this was a Merch for Typos situation, but the first typo was already spotted!)

A big thanks to Nedim Can Incebay for his help with Total War gameplay footage. To Vasilis Manthopoulos for much of the music. To Dresden of Divide Et Impera for modding support. And to my old friend Russel Herneman for original artwork.

This video goes public on Friday. I'll share the YouTube link as soon as it's available.

I am now moving swiftly onto Belisarius. Once again, I hope you enjoy, and thanks again for your invaluable support.

Great video Toby. And timely! I was reading an introduction to Hegel and it seems like he attributed a lot of weight to this battle in the dialectic of history. According to him history began its march with Zoroastrian Persia. Her defeat at Salamis was her denouement with history moving to the Greek world, then Roman, then resistance, enlightenment and finally christian reformed Prussia. An oversimplified Hegel I’m sure. But again, timely and thanks!
