Epic History TV production update

Hello Patrons!

I hope you're all having an excellent start to 2019, and that you've had a chance to check out the latest video - 'Napoleon's Great Blunder: Spain 1808'.

(Full disclosure - I'm a big Sharpe fan, and as an army cadet I was once presented with the Sir John Moore cane, which may be why Moore's fighting retreat and the 95th Rifles get a prominent place in the story!)

Quick update on what's coming up for Epic History TV -

My Napoleonic collaborator HistoryMarche (he creates the excellent battlemaps and animations) is tied up with his own projects for a few weeks, so the next Napoleonic episode (Wagram 1809) will not be until April. In the meantime I'll be working on an exciting experimental project about the Battle of Salamis in 480 BC. I won't say too much about it now because there are a few hurdles to cross - but as always, Patreon supporters will be the first to know.

Thank you all again for your support and messages of encouragement, it is hugely appreciated. Back with updates on Project Salamis soon.

Toby

Not yet, but would be a good topic. First documentary I ever made for television was about the Crimean War. I'll add it to the list, but feel free to remind me when it comes to the next vote for a one-off special!

Any plans to do the Charge of the Light Brigade at some point?

Thank you Ferdinando! Great to hear. There is a particular reason I am doing Salamis as opposed to any of the land battles, and that is because the chance has arisen to work with a specialist in 3D ship-building! At a later date I would love to cover the other major aspects/engagements of the Persian Wars.

This is my first post and I would like to start by congratulating you for all the outstanding work you have done so far. Your enthusiasm and ability to cut to the chase whilst cramming in as much knowledge and fact as possible is both contagious and admirable. As excited as I am by the news regarding the Battle of Salamis I would like to cast a vote for Marathon (490 BCE) plus Thermopylae (August 480 BCE). Keep up the excellent work.
