‘French action’ or ‘Belgian action’?

Harbor plays Dr. Frankenstein or Frankenstein’s monster?

Re: the early discussion on OJ Simpson celebrity worship in the 90's

Highly highly recommend watching Elia Kazan's masterpiece A Face in the Crowd (1957) for an incredibly prescient look at American celebrity influence.

As someone who has played in a few bands, listing start times for artists at concerts would never work. There are too many things that can cause delays so concerts rarely run as scheduled

Austin Buccowich

They run for 20+ minutes in my area.

Virtually all cars do that worldwide, it's not a US thing, just a safety feature. Anytime I've been to an advanced screening the theater made it very clear that the movie would be starting at X time and that there would be no trailers, so maybe this is really a communications issue if dozens of people are consistently showing up late. I think, unfortunately, at least for crowded showings, there will always be people arriving 15-20 minutes into the film regardless of there being trailers or not. Everyone already knows that there are going to be roughly 20 minutes of trailers, so giving people an exact start time is only a positive for the customer, and those who will be late will be late anyway. Honestly, I think a better solution would be for theaters to stop allowing admittance to showings a couple of minutes after start, but I doubt any theater would want to spend money enforcing that policy.

Well… it’s now the best kung fu movie to take place in Wisconsin 🤷🏻‍♂️ Ke Huy Quan deserved better than this.

Nervous_NRG

I don't think they can do the whole city in one day so different areas are broken up throught the week.

Same! For me Paddington 3 is the movie that plays in people’s imagination when you make an impassioned case for them to watch Paddington 2. It’s only just okay.

April Reid

I found the recasting rather jarring :/

Joy o Napping

Dave’s joke setup had me convinced he was about to deliver a brilliant subversion of the joke we all remember from grade school. I thought, “He’s not doing a ‘fungi’ joke is he? Surely not, surely his standards are higher than that and he’s got some clever twist!” But no. The silence following his punchline made me wince in my car

DarmineDoggyDoor

Did not know there was a city in the US (or the planet for that matter) where the garbage truck picks up trash on Sundays.

Papool Chaudhari

Trailers don't run for 20 minutes.

Roshar Space Fleet

When I sit around and read on Sundays the garbage truck comes and takes me and my neighbors cans. It makes noise for a little while then drives away.

Roshar Space Fleet

Emily Mortimer is not ‘back’ in Paddington 3 she’s a replacement for Sally Hawkins

April Reid

I was at my highschool graduation too when the bronco chase happened also!! So crazy. My family went right home and watched it on TV.

Prince Davis

If Jeff doesn’t have a voice role in Marvel Zombies it’d be such a shame. He goes way back!

BENJAMIN SHULTZ

I missed the first 20 mins of Nosferatu because the theater chose to NOT show any trailers

Ted Lauck

My only concern about giving exact start times is that people will come in right when the movie starts and also after. And those people make noise getting settled in and opening their snacks, etc. And instead of that happening during the trailers, it will happen during the actual beginning of the movie. I go to many advanced screenings that have no trailers and people come in late because they don't know the movie starts at the posted time and it's very distracting for dozens of people to walk in 20 minutes into the feature and rip open plastic packages and get settled into their seats. (And yes, I did say after the start of the movie. Here in the US, most people are not punctual and push past start times and deadlines. Just look at our cars. Only in the US is there a buffer when your car says it has no gas, because car makers found that Americans will go past the point where the car tells you the tank is empty. But outside the US, when the car says it's empty, it is in fact empty.)

Papool Chaudhari

Love the law proposed to show actual movie start times. NFL has the “Rooney Rule”, now movies can have the “Looney Rule” 🙃

Chris Cameron

The fight choreography was great. They must have gotten someone with a Hong Kong Kung fu movie history. Not this new age Jason Bourne quick cuts stuff.
