Freya & Kiira Head Ref Sheets for Issue 05: Swapped!
Added 2020-05-18 04:54:44 +0000 UTCSo I promised myself if I make it to issue 05 of Freya then it's "The real deal" this time. Not a false start. And I would take a moment to regroup and get my comic together properly. Until now my absolute main focus has been, "produce pages... finish the issue." because honestly that's like a huge stumbling block for indie comic artists. And I had a very strong drive to get it done. Freya or Bust!
But now we're at issue five... my self assigned goalpost! So I'm taking the time this week to do a little work to make it more... well. Comicy! I've invested some money in new art tools, swapped to a better computer, started art streaming, and now I'm doing detailed design work to get the characters to someplace like I see them in my head. Issue 05 features Freya and Kiira, again. So I made these sheets to help me make the comic I want to make.
Obviously I could have gotten all my ducks in a row *before* publishing but... If you've ever done a project like this you know you can absolutely spend *Forever* preparing and always finding "ONE MORE THING... before I pull the trigger."
Partly because you get this "perfection" idea in your head. That it has to be perfect. And of course it never is so you keep messing with it. And second you're scared of failing / people hating it. So you find reasons to avoid that potential disappointment. Still "Technically" working on the project but never quite taking the plunge.
That said... I won't spend *too* much time doing character design and playing with my new toys. Should start posting new pages quite shortly. If you've read this far gosh you're a doll and I would totally let you pin me down and make a complete *mess* inside my- Er! *Straightens bandanna* I mean. Thank you kindly!
