He seriously believed that he could catch the paper birds and fly from Nigde to the Surface. Maybe in some magical land that every kid wants to find? But he nearly died in the end, and his parents were very, very unhappy with their stupid son's behavior.
You have to hunt birds, not ride on them in an attempt to reach a silly dream, you fool! Grow up and become a man, like your brother. If you will not do this, only Book knows what will happen to you in the future.
