Some quick research shows that it had a budget of about 5 million and made 13.6 million in theaters so it was definitely a success in terms of money. Oh a quick edit: I don't know if you looked it up after watching, but the actress for Muffy, Deborah Foreman, probably seemed familiar because she was the final girl in Waxwork.
