Added 2024-02-19 12:13:18 +0000 UTCstory background is xiao is the lone survivor of an expedition gone wrong and suffers from chronic pain because of the remnants of a parasitic entity that drove his crewmates to insanity. his condition prevents him from going on solo flight missions as he can no longer sync with the combat ship's system. venti is an scientist and ship designer who took over andrius's position as mondstadt's head when the other man retired. he meets xiao at a diplomatic mission and becomes interested in him despite xiao's insistence he stay away due to their difference in status and xiao's (unfounded) fears he might hurt venti during one of his episodes.
and yes i literally rewatched star trek episodes and reinstalled hsr just for the worldbuilding of this au.
