i also changed some details in the plot a bit because this AU was made pre-fontaine. made it so that xiao and venti know each other more, so they're like childhood acquaintances because the liyue royal family used to visit mondstadt frequently during occasions and xiao as the adopted son of the family's top general (moon carver) would be present a lot. they're not exactly friends, child xiao found child venti annoying and spoiled lmao. venti is also two years younger than xiao which isn't really an important detail but would explain why they didn't really hang out too much as children.
