The-who-forgot-about-the-elephant xD
Now I'm working on preparing the Fountain Guard Shoulder pads for publication on 3D stocks and the Patreon store. They were made to order and the customer wanted me to make only the shoulders and did not need a gorget. And now the time has come to load the shoulder pad model into the store.
I exported the files, made renders, processed them in a graphics editor and prepared to upload the files to the store the next day. Everything seems to be fine, the process is divided into stages, the elephant is eaten in parts :)
But
In my store on 3D stocks, a similar 3D model, Shoulder pads of the Soldier of Gondor, comes complete with a gorget. And then I realized that I had forgotten about the elephant.
What about the stages of accepting the inevitable? At first I fell into a stupor, then moved on to the whiny stage: “I’ve wasted so much time, and this all needs to be redone, and I’m already so tired...” I’m lucky to have a person next to me who supports me, my precious partner . He talked to me, we discussed how best to deal with this situation and he also suggested making this post so that I could use the “wasted renders”. This man is my blessing, thanks to him I went through the stages of accepting the inevitable quite quickly, and did not indulge in sad procrastination, as happened before.
To complete the kit, I needed to remake an old gorget, which has a different shape and the fasteners are located in the wrong places.
This time I started by setting a goal: "get a set of shoulder pads into the store." And for this it is necessary that the set be self-sufficient, that is, if a person buys shoulders, then he will have something to attach them to (gorget). At the moment, I am already finishing preparing a set of shoulder pads with a gorget for publication in the store and will upload the files there in the coming days.
I wanted to share this story with you for two reasons: suddenly my example will help you not to forget about the elephant when you eat it in parts :) And the second reason, to speak out to you and show renders that will not be used for publication in the store and therefore are an example that it is worth first defining the goal and then breaking it down into stages, and not vice versa ^_^
