Wish I was in on this convo 3 months ago, but I think it's harder for women because of their dual mating strategy. Women often don't actually get with the fella they perceive as having the best genes long term because he is the minority alpha male who gets to eat at the buffet, so to speak. Women more normally settle for a beta male provider long term, and that's what they want until they are ovulating, then their desire for the alpha male genes kicks in again until ovulation breaks and they have the desire to protect the genetic contribution given to them from the alpha with provisioning once again from the unsuspecting beta male who gets bread crumb sex between ovulations. Also, I think due to the nature of their hormones women get caught up in the emotional excitement more than men and their "switches" so to speak are activated with more subtle and supposedly innocent interactions that it catches the women themselves off guard. They're sucked into feeling the emotional butterflies and they can't get off the roller coaster once the ride has started. I've been reading about cases of infidelity on Reddit, and the line women say over and over again that it was "just an accident". This is often greeted by incredulity from males on the forum because their cheating often has many points at which they could have put the breaks on yet chose not to and real accidents do not actually stretch across month-long periods or even hour-long periods. But I think the gradual escalation of it dulls women's own perception of it, so that it actually feels to them like an accident they just got caught up in. Then there's another matter of modern day bachelorette parties...but I gotta stop now.

Agree, I had a Male friend in college who found himself in exactly the situation you described. Instead of going home, he broke up with his girlfriend over the phone before sleeping with the other woman. He admitted it wasn't the most honorable thing he could've done, but said at least he could live with himself after.

It's important to be honest with your self. I was at a party once at my dorm where this girl was all over me and I was getting more and more drunk. I knew that if I were to keep drinking I would likely fall for the temptation and cheat on my girlfriend. So I just went home. I constantly see people put themselves in situations were cheating can happen, and then use alcohol or lapse of judgement as an excuse after. They just didn't stop what they knew was happening.

I just realized my comment kind of makes it sound like I think monkey branching is moral, I don't. I just dont think it's the same as cheating. Hope that didn't confuse the issue!

Ashwin, take it from a reformed cheater, the is no such thing as stealing. The person leaves their partner for the new one because thet WANT to. No matter how they rationalize it, it's never the new one's fault. Also, just because someone is looking to 'get stolen' , in other words an excuse to leave the relationship, doesn't mean they will cheat, they might just monkey branch. So the morality question you pose might not come into play

One more point on why it's easier for women to resist temptation is that given that she's the one who's going to be approached, a man would almost never approach a woman who he knows to be taken,i.e, in a relationship or married. Ruling out some unscrupulous men of course, hardly any options present themselves. Or maybe the morality of trying to get with someone, either for a short term or long term fling/commitment is another thing and I would be curious to know people's thoughts on this as it applies to a guy trying to steal a girl from another guy or a girl trying to steal a guy from another girl. Also, this might be the only video here on Patreon where AG doesn't start off with the usual, "Hey guys, welcome back to another Patreon exclusive video...." XD.
