50 beers spread out over a day and a whole chicken isn't that hard to believe if you're a big guy with high alcohol tolerance (and it's watered down 3 or 4% beer like coors light). Boggs himself actually claims it's over 100...which is much harder to believe

2022-05-23 00:46:38 +0000 UTCThe inside baseball jokes in this are so great. Frank and Dennis betting like Pete Rose. PEDs and the “commissioner sweeping it under the rug”. Mac trying to conjure a rivalry up like Sosa and McGwire. Great fun episode congrats on the graduation!!

2022-05-21 04:22:05 +0000 UTCThe guys talked in the podcast about worrying that the show will be a little dated with some of the references, and I can see that now from the reaction. Boss Hogg was the dirty sheriff on the show Dukes of Hazzard, and his schemes were always being thwarted by them Duke boys (as he said in the hallucination). I only saw the show in reruns as a kid, but if you've seen him, you'll never forget Boss Hogg. All the music during the episode was music you'd hear at major league baseball games. It was the classic baseball stadium organ music, and it included Take Me Out to the Ball Game. The music at the final swing was the same music used in the movie "The Natural" when Roy Hobbs hit the home run. The drinking contest is actually based on a true story.

2022-05-21 01:46:27 +0000 UTCSuch a great episode… from Frank looking to become the “first” member of the air sex society to Charlie eating a whole chicken in honor of the chicken man (Wade Boggs’ actual nickname). He’s one of the best hitters in the history of the sport and I was shocked when I first saw this episode and he actually made an appearance. May he Rest In Peace 🤣. Looking forward to Better Call Saul so much, man, that show just gets better and better with character development and interconnected the BB timeline to Jimmy’s early legal career. Congrats on graduation too, it’s no easy feat, for a masters no less!

2022-05-21 00:38:46 +0000 UTCThe video is processing. In the meantime, I wonder if CJ will have recognized the Boss Hogg appearance. For any of us old enough to see the original series, the guy who played Boss Hogg in this episode absolutely nailed it. The guy who played Wade Boggs also did a great job. If only the real Wade Boggs could have been alive to see it, may he rest in peace.
