The Link to Midnight Anima, an odd game.
"I want to make a thematic game" is a complicated thing to go down, and that complicated nature only gets more strange when you decide to go deeper than you'd think. Generally speaking a 2d6/1d100 system based on King's Field and Dragon Quest, with a helpful mixture of Dark Souls, Call of Cthulhu, and a smidge of Elden Ring, and you end up with a bizarre game.
Kenshi's wild ride was an event, but I think putting myself into an odd situation with weird requirements often produces some of my best stuff. Restriction breeds innovation as they say.
As for "What's What," Christ almighty, I'm going to need to go back and probable produce a stronger Monster Creation system and crowbar "Companions" or something similar to the mix, if only to justify the Monster Tamer. Given infinite time and infinite resources, I'd need to commit more time to fleshing out the math behind things, it "should" work, but it'll either break horrendously or work just fine. Hopefully some of the stop gaps in the design stop the worst collapses of the system.
Alas, it's over.
As for what's next? Well, it depends.
If the Commission Projects come through, they'll take priority, if not, we're going deep into Project Sidewinder, which I have the "basic idea" of how I want to handle it. Don't worry, I won't put too much emphasis on the Documentary Mechanics.
I have also started to cite you all in the Little Opinions, if you'd like I can add names, but that'll be a "Your Choice" kind of deal. I may put out a poll on the matter.
