Post your questions HERE for tomorrow's live Q+A!

For those of you who have ordered my book, shipments begin TUESDAY! You should recieve an email once it's shipped. I'm sorry it's taking so long - every single step of this process has been more time consuming than expected.  The digital book is still not available, but I do expect (there's that word again...) that it'll be done shortly.

I'm going to hold off on posting my big YouTube lessons until this stuff gets sorted out and you all have your books. In the meantime, I'm going to make some more content for you here on Patreon, starting with a Q+A tomorrow (December 10) at 12:00 NOON CT.

Post your questions below, and I'll answer them in the order they're recieved. If you need to send a file along with your question, send it to signalsmusicjake@gmail.com but ALSO post your question here!!! Sometimes, Patreon removes links to other sites and videos. If that happens, just redo your post without the link and send it to me directly.  I'll post the link to watch live tomorrow at 11AM,  1 hour before the stream starts.

We'll do another stream on Thursday (Dec 14) evening at 8pm CT, that one will be live composing/producing. I'll post a poll ahead of time to see what sort of concepts I should cover. After that, I'll be active on here with lessons and livestreams until I finally return to YT. That won't happen until:

1. Those of you who live in the US and ordered my book have recieved them.

2. Those of you who don't live in the US can order my physical book with a Patreon discount OR get the digital book at name-your-own-price.

Once you're all taken care of here, I'll let the public know that they can buy my book in one form or another, and will start posting lessons again. I really want this all to occur before Christmas for obvious reasons, but I'm not interested in rushing things out the door just to make money.

Now - ask your questions!

Bummed I had to miss this. I’ll try to remember to get my question in next time - but I was going to ask you about your take on negative harmony/melody.

Hi Jake! When analyzing music, harmony analysis etc. do you prefer Nashville number (functional number notation) or Roman numerals? Figured bass or “a, b, c, d” for inversions? (Or slash?). Do you prefer trying to keep to a key and use secondary dominants where you can, or use modulations? What is your trigger point for deciding if it is a full modulation? Mike Varney
