Stuff that I am doing - 23/03/18

Greeting internet. I person who is stuart. My brain hurts.

Anyway this week I finally finished that story about robots with alzheimer's disease (now titled Haunted Machine) after mentioning it in a blog about 6 months ago when I first had the idea. Yeah, I know, my stories come together sooo quickly. The final draft of Be Brave printer old friend was only a year in the making. This time its been a bit different though as I spent about a week writing and redrafting it after putting it off for months and I've already submitted it to somewhere which is unlike me. I'm pretty happy with it, think I might have a better chance of it seeing print than most of my stories as its more defined as a sci-fi ghost story than my usual confusing mishmash of genres and black comedy that have seen many an editor send my story back with "not right for us - you seem unsure what you want it to be" written on it....so yeah fingers crossed. See what happens. 

In other news I had a shittonne of fun making my ITV2 video and with that hashtag. It seems to have been the video that's gotten me out of this dreary melancholy flunk I'd been in lately. I really enjoyed doing that stream of stupid ideas for TV shows with silly music. I enjoyed it so much that I've pencilled in a short follow up "More ideas for ITV" sketch video featuring my favourite entries on the hashtag, plus my own ones of course.

Also Harry's told me he should be done with the new more experimental class video very soon so expect that and the Crocodile video at some stage over the next week. So that'll be all patron faces done this month, so all I've got left to do for you guys is send out this month's lucky dips and do the let's watch shit TV next week which is usually a piece of piss depending on what mood I'm in. Ooh aren't I getting good at actually doing what I said I'd do? :p I've asked Richard Jon and Billy if they're be interested guesting on this one and they're all keen....try and guess the subject.

More ideas for ITV2

During the break I'll start work on the more intensive and time consuming projects I've got lined up for the summer. I usually do the easier stuff earlier in the year cause its cold and I'm low energy at this time, but I feel I'm coming out of that now and I'm eager to do more complicated projects, said bigger projects including but not strictly limited to:

Chris Chibnall Doctor who torchwood overview (obvs)

Big video about Inside no. 9

The Class origin story episode (the most time consuming obviously)

Also wanna do a book recommendation video about short story writers I've been reading recently

And the big finish boxset projects I mentioned last time. The way I've laid out my schedule I've got one big finish boxset review a month between June and September, Time war 1, 10th doctor vol 2, classic drs new monsters 2 and Ravenous 1.

Oh yeah in other news: I got contacted by this actor/writer/musician guy who works in London who said he's at a loose end and likes my stuff and asked if I wanted to collaborate on anything so since I'm also a guy who'll just do whatever I said yeah alright then and agreed to meet up at some stage. Either he wants to get me involved in some sort of theatre or short film thing or I'm about to lose a kidney, we'll see on that one. Anyway he's also recommended I try this standup open mic night a mate of his runs and I'm actually thinking about it. I started jotting down some jokes I remember from old videos and realised I kinda have a 10 minute standup routine already. Its weird cause I quit trying standup about eight years ago cause of several bad experiences and never tried it again and retreated onto the internet as a way of hiding from an audience, but I think I might be in a better place to give it another shot now.
