Here's an exclusive taster of our second Masterclass. Tim Taylor and Dani Wootton take a look at some of the key online resources for investigating a site.

Me either.

Hi Mark. Thanks very much for the feedback, and we're taking it on board. We've been overwhelmed by all of our fans' positive support and appreciate each and every Patron who has joined us. We're also very conscious that everyone's situation is different and so have tried to offer a range of options to cater for this as best is possible, ensuring that everyone is welcomed. By nature, each level comes with its own range of benefits, but on top of this, we are posting additional content across all tiers, including strategy introduction posts, post-dig analyses and exclusive updates on development – with much, much more to come. The competition to join us on a dig is open to everyone and we will soon be inviting all Patrons give their feedback on potential sites, so that everyone gets a say in shaping the content. In cases where some content is offered at a higher level, we are sharing highlights or clips to make sure everyone gets a feel for what's happening. As you suggest, there may be some occasions when release is simply staggered across levels. It's a difficult balance to strike, but we're constantly reviewing it as we go and looking at other ways to give the best experience. Great content coming your way over the next month or so includes: new tech, more detail on sites, further analysis of previous sites, and great guest interviews. Please do stick with us, and we hope you enjoy all that is still to come!

I have to agree that zoning the Masterclass information like this is disappointing. I cannot pay more to see the whole video.

I see a fundamental problem here. I believe people pay at a Patreon level what they can afford and believe the value of Time Team is to them. Many are pensioners or on low incomes where £5 is an achievable limit. Saying ‘Project Supervisor’ level can see some content and those peasants paying less cannot is a very short sighted and divisive approach. I don’t believe a ‘Project Supervisor’ will be annoyed that a peasant is getting the eventual content and drop their contribution. I do believe the £5 a month contributor may well cancel their support if they feel more and more excluded from on-going material. A Time Team episode will come out eventually on YouTube so why bother paying to be a 2nd class citizen. Maybe just delay content by a few days for the great unwashed. Or give higher level Patreon contributors a T shirt if they have been loyal for at least 6 months. Letting a £5 pleb see a sample of what they are not getting is negative and not a benefit! Merchandise for loyalty with better swag for more money is a more welcoming approach.

Thanks, yes I remember now.

Hi Chris, thanks for the message. The full extended versions of the Masterclasses are available from the Project Supervisor level upwards, so we provide these shorter clips to give a snapshot of the topics covered. We've released two full Masterclasses so far - 'Paperwork and Permissions' (22m) and 'Desktop Digging' (17m). Thanks

I know it says this is a 'taster', any idea how long the full versions will be? (I had made a 'cuppa' and settled in to watch this, not noticing how short it was). Seriously, thanks for all your hard work.
