Kerry Ely returns to Time Team!

We're thrilled to announce that Time Team's long running location manager, prankster and all-round Mr Logistics will be returning to the fold for our Roman villa dig!

Kerry first joined the show as a digging archaeologist on the suggestion of his close friend, Mick Aston. Kerry later moved into the production side and was key to organising everything on site, from helicopters to porta-loos. He played an integral role in keeping everything running smoothly, both on and off screen.

Look out for our Sunday night Teatime interview, when Tim catches up with Kerry to look back at his favourite moments and find out what he's up to now.

Wonderful to see that Colour Sergeant Ely will be returning too. I have visited the Normandy D-day beaches so especially enjoyed his comments on the Sword Beach TT episode. As this is the 77th anniversary of D-day we all need to remember the price that was paid by so many.

Yes! Prof. Powlesland, jumps from JCB to the trench, lifting and providing academic information on pottery or ground shadows for 20 years. I find myself looking closely at all episodes for that handsome man. His quiet charm, marvelous smile enhanced every episode. Why so few inclusions? I read his current academic roles, teaching, consulting, but seemingly behind the scenes. Is Powlesland just a reticent participant reluctant to do camera?

Martha Berryman

In the USA we call them Portapotties, but I like Portaloo better!
