Mick Aston got his wish then, making archaeology available to all. I for one will always be grateful to Time Team because I always had a love of history but hated it at school. Back before TT all we had was old men in tweed suits with a pointer at 2 am on BBC2 that you had to record and felt worse than school history. The only thing before TT was The World at War series.
