A message from Tim

Hi everyone,

We hope you're well.

Here's a message from our Series Producer, Tim Taylor, filmed on location at the start of our first dig.

Please follow the link to see a wonderful image of the late Queen in her role with the Order of St John, the successor organisation to the Knights Hospitaller:

Just to re-emphasize, we are continuing with the shoot and look forward to sharing all the fantastic coverage we have lined up for you, once our normal schedule resumes.

In the meantime, we will be putting your first questions to the team. Please look out for the upcoming post with all the details on how to submit questions.

Many thanks again for your understanding, and best wishes from us all.

Completely understandable, I for one will remain patient while the Team gathers information and analyzes the data, finds & samples from this unique site, along with recording, scanning, digital reconstruction & finally editing. My humblest condolences from Canada. 🙏

I’m with St John Ambulance. A copy of that portrait is on the wall in our unit. I’m pretty sure it’s the same picture.

The Queen’s passing has affected me deeply. There is no other leader like here in the world today. It’s quite proper that Time Team takes time to experience their feelings and regroup when ready. Best wishes from America.

Perfect, Tim. When things settle down a bit I’d love to see the Buckingham Palace episode again…..

Thanks Tim. Part of the enjoyment I get from watching Time Team episodes is the excitement and joy of those involved. Giving the sad news of Her Majesty’s passing, I imagine the crew might not be as upbeat as other times and that might come through in the filming. I fully support Time Team giving it a bit of time.

Condolences to all those who mourn Queen Elizabeth II around the world. Even though we all knew it was coming, it's still a difficult transition. Best wishes to King Charles III. I remember the Big Royal Dig well. You did indeed dig up her lawns.

Kate

most of us here in America, Understand why, for now you want to keep things a bit low profile, and I for one, like many others here, possibly, remember the digs you did, when Mick, Victor, Phil were there as well, and met with the Queen and her husband, and did some digs around the one palace and other grounds. I remember the Queen stating that she would not be there when you were all digging due to the noise and she would be at her estate in Scotland, and Phil laughed. The FIRST and only time I saw Phil in a suit when he and Mick met them both, and chatted about the dig. Your Queen was a remarkable woman, and will be greatly missed. We will never forget her, and she will always hold fond memories for all of us here. Memory Eternal to the Late Queen, and look forward to the digs, in due time. Thank you.

An appropriate decision for a very sad, but, undoubtedly, a major historical event. It's going to be strange for a while... Thanks, Tim.

A page in history has been turned, it's a lot to process for many of us. Best wishes to you Tim, and all the Team in these sad times.
