S22 | Dig Watch | Knights Hospitaller: Aerial Site Tour

Good morning from the field!

It is Day 3, as we investigate the site of a potential Knights Hospitaller Preceptory. We have another busy day ahead of us, with many outstanding questions still to be resolved.

We know how eager you are for news from the site, and look forward to sharing the full and extensive coverage when the schedule resumes very soon (full details to be announced).

We are capturing lots of fascinating insights into the process for the Dig Watch coverage, and we can promise you now, you are in for a very special treat. Today members of the team will be recording answers to your questions in our Q&A sessions.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this aerial tour of the site, filmed shortly before the full excavation team arrived. As you can see, we couldn't hope for a more beautiful setting for a dig!

Would love to know a little of the recent-ish history of the church as I'm always intrigued when a structure is built to stand proud against the environment as a beacon to the locals that can be seen for miles, which is then hidden by planting trees and not cutting them back?!?

I'm already a patreon but every e mail won't let me open the content. I've had to rejoin. Naughty. Only loyalty as a life long fan since the 90's did i rejoin.

How exciting! <3

The weather looks good! Some of the episodes in the original Time Team series had some really atrocious weather.

Andy Quick

Hope you will be looking for the Mill.

Peter Martin

Was that trailer that was being towed around in the field north of the church doing a "Geofizz" survey?

Richard Davis
