S22 | Dig Watch: Anglo-Saxon Cemetery: Day Two - Morning Briefing

It's morning on Day Two here in Norfolk and we're ready for another action-packed day on site. Yesterday ended with emotions high and several key questions, which we hope to answer over the next two days.

We have some more Q&A sessions lined up to record this afternoon, and there are also rumours that Dr Sam Newton has his Saxon lyre with him, so join us for more updates throughout the day!

Thank You! I look forward to it!

Hi Laura, we discussed this very question in our upcoming masterclass with Sam - watch this space!

Time Team

Thank you both for the very short update...

Hello from Oregon, USA. I have a question for Dr. Newton. How does the music and lyrics come from Anglo Saxon times? I imagine the lyrics might be written, but what about the actual music?

As you get near the end of dig two, year two, a question for anyone and everyone. What have you changed this year from what you learned last year and thus far this year?

Ann Wagner

A 100 years from now how would you like Time Team remembered?

Steve Mikre

Hello from Monterey, California! I love Time Team and I'm really looking forward to the new digs! I assume that there is some kind of transition period between the end of the Roman occupation of Britain, and the Anglo-Saxon period. It's not like the Romans all packed up and left in one day. What are the archeological signs of that transition period? How long did it last?

Michael Sperry

Some random time traveling style questions: if you were Anglo Saxons standing in that field, what do you think it would look like, what would you be wearing, how big is the nearest town, and/or is there anything you'd see around you that was from Roman times or earlier?

James D Speckart

A nice update.

Have a great day - looking forward to the “seen things” outcome!

One thing I've always been curious is how the new archeologists find it being on camera. Does the cameras and so on change the way they work and/or think about work and in that case how. I imagine a few of the younger once watched TT in their youth so it'd be interesting to hear how they think about it now as adults.
