S22 | Dig Watch: Anglo-Saxon Cemetery: Day Two - Site Walkabout

It's time for your next instalment of Dig Watch... as you'll see we've had some truly beautiful weather here today in Norfolk!

We've also just returned from filming a fantastic interview in the field with Gus, and some test-pitting action in the village, both of which will be coming soon.

Please keep all your comments and feedback coming in.

I like this! Muchas gracias.

Geboren en getogen! Hilde's English is really really good. Thanks for asking, I did wonder her Dutchness..

, and some test-pitting action in the village, both of which will be coming soon. But where do I watch them?

Kevin

This was a delightful peek. Everyone seemed to be delighted in a storm. How sweet!

What a delightful chance to see a gathering of diggers and archaeologists in the wild! Usually the chats are in a cozy pub at day's end. I hope the rain helped the diggers, that ground looked miserably hard and dry. Thank you!

Jude Edling

Love the freaky hair on that guy in the background. Archaeologists never disappoint in how they look.

Andrew Gledhill

But what are they finding IN the trenches?!

Hi Michael, by necessity (and for a variety of reasons aside from spoilers), there are some details at each dig that we do have to keep confidential until the appropriate time, but we're sharing as much of the process as it unfolds as possible. Hope you're enjoying all the coverage!

Great update, and to hear that there are multiple finds in Hilde's trench. Hope the site is keeping Jackie busy.

Guys, I know you are avoiding spoilers as much as possible. But do you really need to turn the sound off on some words that might give us hints, even obvious ones? For example, when digging in a cemetery in an unstated location in Norfolk, it won't spoil our enjoyment to know that the osteoarchaeologist is working on a burial. That's what we expect! I was planning to quote Helen in an assignment I am writing at the moment, but you turned the sound down and ruined a beautiful poignant moment. Keep up the good work though.

I was smiling after watching that! Well done guys! We are in for a real treat from this site.

Stephen Southworth

Great to hear they have multiple finds in one of the trenches.

David Boon

Excellent and thoroughly intriguing!
