S22 | Dig Watch: Anglo-Saxon Cemetery: Day Three - Site Walkabout

Dr Newton has landed... and so has our final Site Walkabout of the dig, direct from the field!

Unfortunately, word got around the site that Derek and Lawrence are genuine, actual archaeologists, and so they got coerced into opening a new trench. But that didn't stop us from delivering our Site Walkabout courtesy of the new roving mic!

What you've seen so far is just a small fraction of the amazing footage we've captured over the weekend. We have lots more antics, interviews, mini masterclasses and other insights to follow in the weeks ahead, so please stay with us as the action continues.

Comments

much better site scene on this episode....keep that enthusiasm going !

LOVE the roving mic. Love seeing all the different perspectives while it is happening. Love that an American won the contest! So jealous. But it shows that the colonists love Time Team!

Kara Cunningham

Loved hearing the DoP's comments - that's real behind the scenes stuff.

Rosemary Henderson

Thoroughly enjoyable, as always, as are the intriguing hints we get...

Elaine P

What a great bunch of people! So interesting.

Anglo-Saxon Cemetery on Halloween? What fun that would be. Music by Sam. Always hopeful.

Ann H

Those where some great interviews. It was great to see all the people working on making Time Team a success.

Carl Johnson

After the interview with Gus, I spent this episode noticing everyone's fashion!

Donna Holt

One hopeful fun fact. Modern (non organic farming) uses non plough techniques. Weed control is undertaken using glyphosate which is safe. Ploughing releases carbon into the atmosphere and destroys archaeology.

Mark Baker

Really enjoyable.

I was surprised, after having watched the other videos where everyone's been really cagey and circumspect about what's going on, to hear Helen talk rather openly about some of the major aspects of the dig! This video should possibly have a "spoiler alert" attached to it? That said, I LOVE the site walkabouts, and this latest video format was a fun, fresh take! :) Can't wait to see the finished episode(s)!! :-)

Paul Brekke

That was really fun! Lovely to meet so many of the people involved.
