S22 | Dig Watch: Anglo-Saxon Cemetery: Day Three - End Wrap
Added 2022-09-27 11:12:06 +0000 UTC
Here's Derek, Lawrence and Tim at the end of Day 3, reflecting on the weekend, while also looking ahead to that all-important third site. Tim reveals some more exclusive details of the theme we are exploring.
So, that's a wrap for our Norfolk dig – all finished!
Except, it isn't really finished at all, because we have so much more to come from what was a rollercoaster of a weekend...
What else is in the pipelines? We've been treated to:
- A fascinating musical masterclass with Dr Sam Newton (oh yes, there's more!)
- Fieldwalking with Philippa Walton and Paul Blinkhorn
- Community test-pitting with Dani Wootton and Carenza Lewis
- Q&A sessions with Helena Hamerow, Jackie McKinley and John Gater
- A digger driving masterclass
- An inspiring chat on supporting local archaeology projects with John Gater and Hilde van der Heul
- More 3D models
- Aerial footage
- Post-excavation insights
So, keep with us on Patreon as the action continues.
Due to the nature of the process, there are certain details that we can only reveal after the event, so we'll be sharing much more context and analysis in the weeks ahead.
Knights Hospitaller Preceptory
What's more, we're getting ready for another bumper weekend featuring coverage from our earlier dig: a Knights Hospitaller preceptory in Shropshire.
The location, site and archaeology had a very different character compared to the dig that has just happened, so get ready for another three days of Time Team action!
Thank you so much again for all your comments, suggestions and ideas – we do read every single one and feed this into the process to help make it as great as we can.
Love everyone’s passion.

I love Dig Watch and can't wait to get home when I'm out doing things to see what new video and text are available from these wonderful collaborative efforts. I've watched all the originals at least once, many 2 or 3 times, I've seen all the new episodes so far and happily look forward to more. Keep up the amazing work and great spirit. It's truly inspiring!

What happened to Day 2 content? Nothing appeared on my emails or You Tube feeds - is it just me?

Thank you Dig Watch and Time Team!! I'm thrilled that the 3rd dig has developed from a wish to a remote possibility to actual research. I'm so looking forward to the announcement that it is really happening.

Allow me to echo Elise's comment. I'm usually very skeptical of resurrecting a show but this one works marvelously!

Tim Taylor is so gracious about thanking all of the Patreon contributors. Mr Taylor, I think I speak for more than just myself in saying: Thank you for creating Time Team and bringing it back. It is an honor and a privilege to support you and all the people who work so hard to bring us so much knowledge and joy!
