S21 | Broughton Post-Ex 2: Bone Assemblage

Before the recent digs, we began a series of post-excavation videos from last year's investigation of Broughton Roman Villa.

In our second instalment, Dani and Naomi discuss what animal bones can tell us about the people who lived and worked on site. As they highlight, the archaeological process is continuous and ongoing, as new theories, perspectives and evidence come to light.

Look out for the next part in the series, coming soon, as well as details of the post-ex process for this year's digs.

Dig 3 Update and Other News

Development is well underway for that all-important third dig site, so watch this space for more details of our research and the time-scales involved. Our investigations are centred on the links between UK-based sites and early settlers in what is now the US. One very exciting contender in the West Country has connections to an iconic American brand and possibly the ancestral home village of two US Presidents!

We also have a fantastic range of videos coming your way in the lead up to Christmas and the New Year, so keep a look out for all the announcements.

Remember, none of this is possible without your continued support, so thank you again for being an essential part of the team!

Comments

If the horse head was used for eel farming would there be teeth marks on the bone for Naomi to see?

I love the extra details that come out after the programmed has "aired".
