It's a race against time to excavate an ancient burial mound in Northumberland before it is lost forever through coastal erosion.

2023-11-02 14:44:46 +0000 UTCIn your discussion of Shamanic practices, I did not see mention made of the incredible finds on the east coast of UK of animal skulls being used and altered, likely for just such shamanic rituals. Although to my recollection, these finds were much older (mesolithic period). Can you comment? Have any such finds been found in the Bronze age period?

The 3-day digs have a narrower focus, and rightly so, but I also enjoy and appreciate the broader context the specials give on a particular topic that you just can't get on the typical 3-day dig.
