Dig Watch | Modbury: Test Pit 4 - 3D model

Here's another one of our test pits from last weekend, this time including the scale and arrow pointing to the north!

View the model on Sketchfab HERE.

In this test pit, we were lucky to be joined by one of our Patreon members and local resident, Kieran, who jumped in to a range of tasks. Thanks Kieran, great to have your help!

As always with Dig Watch, this is just the start of the story. The full context of the test pit survey and finds will follow in the completed episode.

Anglo-Saxon Cemetery Update

Are you already craving your next dose of Time Team? Good news! The action continues with the release of last year's Anglo-Saxon cemetery dig in Norfolk. We're getting ready for the 3-part premiere very soon on YouTube.

Members on Patreon from Digger tier and above will be treated to a special advance preview of Day 1. Look out for all the details...

Trying to figure out what the item is in the lower right quadrant. Is it a pipe end or a separate removable item? Hmm.

Nice boot print. Who cleaned that up?

Hi there I live in Croxley Green South West Herts. TT did a programme in series 12 on the Manor of the More which was excellent. In fact our whole area is full of really interesting places : Croxley Great Barn - a medieval wonder in wood - built 1397/1400; an Iron Age hill fort at Bathend Clump Batchworth; a 1st century Roman Villa in Moor Park. I’m trying to get a group of local enthusiasts together to try to raise awareness of the Heritage: anyone who would like to participate please email me on tonyh@hsllaw.co.uk. I am not a professional historian just an historical dreamer. Best

Makes sense thanks

We'd have to double check with the experts, but the rectangular lines showing the change in soil colour at the bottom of the pit are likely simply to be the shadows cast by the sun when the model was captured!

Excellent to see a fellow Patreon in the trenches 🙌 sorry, gotta run! I'm off to Sketchfab..... bye! 👋😎 ps- can't wait to see the 3-part Norfolk dig coming up!

Patricia Amero

It's is very distinct!

Emily Flotilla

Wow, is that change in soil profile real/unenhanced- never seen such a distinct and sharp change in soil colour/texture?

Robert Theunissen

Thank you for the scale and the north arrow.
