I haven't seen this episode yet (although I have been looking forward to it for a long time). Your enthusiasm is infectious! And, enthusiasm is what I love about Time Team -- professionals who love their work.

Elizabeth Neill

Yes. Heartrending to see Helen vindicated.

Doug Mackey

I want to enthuse about this first installment of the new episodes. Hamerow, Blinkhorn, McKinley, Newton, plus our stalwarts. These are not only our favourite TT friends, but truly brilliant and engaging minds in their fields. I’ve read their books, some publications, and it’s a great thrill to see them in—though it’s only the first of three segments—my favourite thus far of the “new” episodes/sites. Hats off to Tim and the whole team for not only continuing the TT tradition, but elevating it! Cheers!

Doug Mackey

I love it! So glad to see Paul on the show!

Jessie Doherty

So pleased to see Mr Blinkhorn back. I know his lovely accent has changed somewhat, but I bet his sense of humour and amazing expertise is still present.

jon pratty

I am sooo hooked and looove you guys and gals and what you do for history and for us!!! To bring us back in time and to see what the people looked like and how they lived, IS AMAZING!!! THANK YOU so much for your hard work and devoted time to this incredible show!!!

Starla Andreas

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cheryl Kurucz

Super!

Stephen Southworth

Waiting for the next two installments is going to kill me!

Matthew Hauck

This was great. Can't wait for the next two installments. The pressure when nominating a site must feel intense when you consider Time Team is digging a couple rather than a dozen of sites a year, so was delighted for Helen that the buckle appeared. The format also allowed us longer to explore what had already been discovered. That brooch! Just amazing.

Richard Moss

Without doubt very special this one Time Team . Great direction and super editing . Time Team are back and on form !! love the early Medieval period . Great to see Paul again . "Bally"!! great Job Guys and Gals.

PHILIP MAY

Please hurry and clean the buckle! I can’t wait to see it in all its glory. So happy for Helen!

Irene Daly

Great stuff...love the A/S period & all it entails. (Especially gold n garnets!) Good to see Mr Blinkhorn back too.

Mark Lund

Very exciting first day! What I saw of Helen's belt buckle find looked like it might have a stylised animal head on it. I'll be extremely interested to see what it looks like when cleaned up.

Kerry Hennigan

It's so much fun to watch the excavation and discoveries. Glad TT is back doing this important work.

Kate Dillingham

For some reason the color grading looks a bit different to me this time around. Perhaps a different camera? Or possibly the weather worked its lighting magic. Anyway, the production feels great! Loved all the maps showing us what is going on and where. One thing I hope to be included in the next 2 days is an "x marks the spot" comparison - which triangulation method was the most successful. :)

Jakub Jůzl

Incredibly exciting. Can't wait for the full set.

Hunt

A very interesting episode and superbly produced, as ever.

Philip Stack

Aaaw dear Helen! Love this so much! Great to see Paul and Sam too, always love their work.

Bron Lloyd

Soooooo excited!

Michelle Selway

Looking forward to seeing what find.

Richard Wesson

As a huge Helen Geake fan, I’m so thrilled this is her site. And I’m just so excited to see the next two days!

Katy Brown

It's wonderful seeing them back with the team, isn't it? 🥰

Patricia Amero

Yeah, right…

Mark Freestone

very excited to watch all the episodes

Frank Pellow

Bravo Helen Geake

Pia Fredfeldt

OMG was Grerat to see Paul Blinkhorn there giving his expert views on the pottery that was coming in on some of the test pits. Jackies expertise on the remains of the woman was also very intersting. I have a good feeling that when it comes down to it, Stewart will find the exact spot, cause I have seen him do that exact same thing, form a photograph some yrs ago on the Time Team 1.0. Love the knowledge of Prof. Same Newton. he is walking history books..such a shame that there was so much plow damage to the graves, that are being found and that they were not buried all that deep. or if they were, then over time with the plow, over the years have made the soil around the graves so shallow. I sure pray they can find others that have NOT been so damaged by the plow, but I doubt it. Waiting for part 2 & 3..

Donna Oglesby

SO ready for the next 2 days!!

J. Andrew Lockhart

And John can buy Stew a beer🍺

Eggs Ackley

Wonderful, I enjoyed that so much. Can't wait for the next part!

Kylie Willison

Thanks for the episode. I'm looking forward to the last two days. I'm not a betting man, but I'd be willing to bet that Stewart's method of triangulating on trees from a photograph finds the grave of the Anglo-Saxon lady. Trees don't move around :-).

Andy Quick

This was great! I was actually at the dig, and I still learned a whole bunch of new things by watching this episode! Can't wait for the other two to drop.

Leah Kotok

Awesome episode. Can’t wait for the rest.

Dyana Mason

So many brilliant minds/old friends! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Doug Mackey

Oh my goodness! Time Team just keeps getting better and better. What an extraordinary Day 1. Even if Helen said not much was found, it took my breath away. Watching the members of the Team getting together and doing their thing was spectacular. And what could be more typical Time Team than to begin with John and his latest geophys technology vying with Stewart lining up trees! I couldn’t ask for more. Plus it’s an area where my ancestors came from and I have been to Diss. Thanks to everyone for the opportunity to participate in this amazing dig. Waiting with breathless anticipation for Day 2.

JUDITH COOKE

I have been waiting for this one! The first part did not disappoint! Can't wait for more!

Pamela Brotherton

That pendant is unbelievable and to be able to see it in such detail. Great start. Looking forward to the next episode. Wonderful to see Carenza, Sam and Paul. And community test pits!

DIANA R NELSON

Enjoyed it. What was up with Gus's mic though?

Michael O'Connor

I watched the preview and my husband went nuts when he saw Sam's instrument. My husband just made one. (he has taken up making instruments as a hobby) Thank you for that

Ellen Holt

That was really good.

Connie L Merchant

Great to see all these familiar experts in the same dig. Paul especially, and Helena Hamerow. I'm really excited and looking forward to the next helping.

Priscilla Reeve

The immense importance of so many experienced professionals linked with incredibly advanced technology, tiny fragments shedding light on such an interesting place/ time in history... I'm absolutely blown away over and over again. That's it, I'm increasing my Patreon level. I love this... thank you Time Team 🙏

Patricia Amero

Impeccable as always!! What a perfect start to a lazy Sunday evening.

Michael Louk

More of the old gang back! Super excited for next weekend!

Chris Berwick

Ah, so exciting! Great work, everyone!

Michael Sperry

Absolutely fascinating! Eagerly awaiting next weekend.

Pamela A. Parsels

Well, I found that super exciting. For me, anything that gives a hint of our Anglo-Saxon past gets my brain in a whirl. So happy for Helen that there's obviously more than the one burial here.

David Billingham

So great to see Paul back!

Simon Orchard

Great to see Paul, Jackie and Sam

Jim Lady

So exciting! Helen getting emotional really hit home. It took years before they hit the 'no finds dig'. Glad she wasn't hit with that here! Always a risk with Anglo Saxons!

S. Douglas Baldwin

Helen and Gus summed up Time Team so well, "It's never as easy as you thought it would be."

Jude Edling

Enjoyed Day 1. Wonderful to see all the immense Time Team archeology experience on one dig. Including Paul Blinkhorn, Jackie, & Sam Newton. Looking forward to what they learn from our Lady's teeth - lived in Frankia & locally? Excited for next weekend!

Di

Fantastic preview, Patreon subscribers spoilt as always! The pressure on the dig lead isn’t always obvious, so a really lovely detail to see Helen’s relief! Can’t wait for next weekend!!

Justin Freeman

Aw, Helen getting all emotional. Great episode. Looking forward to Friday and next weekend.

Karen Foley

Excellent! Great to see something filmed not to far from where I live.

Erin Kerton

I look forward to finding out more next week!

Elizabeth Gildersleeve

I second that - such a pleasure to see Paul Blinkhorn again.

Elizabeth B Hess

Excellent!! We all feel Helen's emotions over this.

Carol Overrill

Loved it. Well done Time Team!

Mark & Jill Jefson

Very good to see Paul involved again
