I ended up sketching too many ideas just to present something here, so perhaps I'll focus on the one that I actually finished. And that's none other than the image in the Thank You page!! I figured that you're here because of Ciel anyway... I'm thankful for all your support.
On the first image , you'll notice that it's completely different from the end result. In fact, it changed a lot as I was worked longer on it. That sort of drawing process can either work for you or not. For me, it gets very tiring and boring, so I try to finish something as fast as I can (which usually takes about a week or longer). The first image has more prominent uneven features. I wanted an angelic image for this particular piece.
But on the second pic , she ended up looking more playful. I wanted to keep that idea, but I don't think it works for the rest of the pose. A slight alteration of the lash and eyelid position changes the expression almost immediately.
Now on the third pic , it's becoming more solid now. I fixed her eyes and tried to work on colors to see if I like the general shape of it.
It looked fine on the fourth pic . But it still seems a bit off.
So I added the back part of her head, which wasn't present in the original sketch. I only did this to check if it's aligned with the anatomy.
It really isn't.
You'll see on the fifth pic that her head is too small. It bugged me off a lot and stopped working on it for a while. Then I remembered that I need to post something for my Patrons, so I worked back on it. >A<
There's not much that I can put into detail after that. I just completely abandoned drawing a lineart for her hair and veil, because they're honestly not that necessary.
I just fixed her hair and everything, which you will find in the Thank You page when you donate (I think)! I also added some glow and gradient background using Photoshop, since I don't want to manually add it in SAI. It's too much unnecessary work, and I'm not trying to prove anything to the world by working too hard.
I hope that helps somehow. Thanks for reading~
