Time for some R&D: Developing an Android Version
Added 2017-04-24 06:30:37 +0000 UTCv0.6.1 is out in the wild and doing well, with a few minor bugs reported and fixed up for the next release already. Next up is v0.7, which will add hub scenes for all the characters (currently only Lily has one, as a proof of concept added a few updates ago).
Before I get started on that though, I'm going to spend a few days doing some pure research and development. In particular I'm going to be looking at what's involved in creating and maintaining an android version of Lab Rats. If that goes well I'll turn out a test version and put it up for $5 patrons for bug testing and push it out to the public when it's tidied up.

So I am guessing (because i have no clue how to play this game) I lose my income by day 112 if I used the red serum? Not a flippin clue...Also with everyone at or around 100 by the end with days left, and no income, the game really gets boring. The only person i can't fuck is...actually i can fuck everyone and I was in 2 threesomes mom/Lily/me and Nora/Steph/ me. So is the extra scene at the end really worth my time? I guess since I sit at day 113, I will bore my way to 120 and onwards...

From what I've seen so far I should only have to make a few UI changes for the android version and the rest is supported by Ren'py natively. That should mean this is a one time effort and it'll be simple to produce a version going forward.

It'll take a little bit of tweaking of the UI to make sure it's playable (The font also needs to be updated, and a few other minor issues). Once that's done hopefully I'll be able to turn out an android version alongside the public release.

2017-04-25 03:19:52 +0000 UTCRen'py supports android, it'll primarily require some UI changes and the majority of the existing work would be shared between the two. Basically, you could run a command from Ren'py dev tools and spit out an android version of the game right now, it just isn't too usable because of controls.
