Setting Goals for my Prototyping Week
Added 2017-09-12 06:47:21 +0000 UTCv0.11.0 is out in the wild right now and doing well. As usual, I'm using the time between the patron and public release of Lab Rats 1 to get some work done on it's sequel.
This prototyping week is a little unusual, because most of my work won't be done on the actual code of LR2. This week I'm working on automating as much of the image set production for LR2 as possible to allow for a wide range of clothing and position options without sucking up all my development time. The initial signs were all good when I started looking into this last prototype week, so this week is dedicated to actually writing some python scripts and getting some tangible results.
A secondary goal for the week is to add the ability to pick what version of each girl you want to appear on the Lab Rats 1 main menu after you unlock them, and add a new pregnant version of each girl. This will give me an excuse to dig around in Ren'py's menu code, which I'll be looking to modify extensively for LR2.
At the end of the week v0.11.1 will be released, and I'll switch focus back to Lab Rats 1 and development of the v0.12 update. This update will be splitting the current "Public" tag into two separate tags: "Free Use Slut" and "Exhibitionist". That should more accurately cover the two different meanings I grouped under the public tag, and give you more control over the training of each girl.

Found the trick -- you need to edit the rpy files and set 'config.developer = "True"' to get that mode enabled.

2017-10-19 01:16:10 +0000 UTCNo need to feel sorry (or anything like that) when you want to play more the same game without having to start all over. In my case, for example, I barely managed to seduce Nora, while all other ladies were craving for me. EDIT: the where to use that code? It doesn't seem to work, maybe I am missing something. Thanks in advance

2017-09-19 22:34:16 +0000 UTCI agree, but the presence of cheat codes gives people an easier alternative than complaining to the developer, so you can have game issues that might seriously inhibit enjoyment (as the day counter does for me) but you hear very little about it on forums. I've mentioned it before in this Patreon and few people chimed in to agree; so either (a) surprisingly few completionists play this game, (b) everyone else is fine with frequently reverting to saved games after a bad PRNG run wastes a bunch of their precious days, or (c) cheat codes are well known. (There is also an option [d], which is that I am the only one having the problem for whatever reason.) As far as I am concerned I have mentioned what I think is a game flaw to the dev, and wether he fixes it or not is his call, and he knows the issues and complexities involved far better than I do. At this point I feel like I have done my duty and I am just going to try to enjoy the game, which will involve cheat codes if I don't have a less odious avenue.

2017-09-16 15:13:03 +0000 UTCYou shouldn't need a cheat code to enjoy a game. If you do there is something really wrong with that.
2017-09-16 08:48:44 +0000 UTCYeah, going through some of the early dialogue and changing it a little to better fit the general mood of the game is something I would like to do. That will probably be one of the last things on the update list though, right before we put a 1.0 on Lab Rats and call it done.

2017-09-15 04:48:17 +0000 UTCHah! So often I am playing a game that has a characteristic that really cuts into the fun (too hard to get money, tight time limit, etc) and I seem like the only person who complains about it-- it usually turns out there is a cheat code that I didn't know about :)

2017-09-14 01:16:41 +0000 UTCshift+o and write day = 1
2017-09-13 02:49:47 +0000 UTCIs there a possibility of a patron code to give us more days in the game? All these new tags might make time tight for people who aren't aggressively minmaxing their efficiency. (It would also mean that you wouldn't need to revert the game when the PRNG decides to mess with you.)
