Planning my Prototyping Week

v0.12.0 is out to patrons for testing for the next week, which gives me some time to focus on development of Lab Rats 2. I have a few key goals for this development cycle:

1) Write up the full design document for the game and make it available to everyone. This will highlight the features of the game and let you guys give me feedback.

2) Investigate alternative imaging program. Since the beginning of development for LR1 I haven't taken a look at what other tools are available for 3D imaging. I want to spend a few hours with a couple different programs and see if any of them would be a better fit for the project.

3) Begin developing basic art assets for Lab Rats 2. The game currently lacks any sort of art assets, and development of basic things like menu styles and backgrounds will go a long way to improving the feel of the game when it's ready for a tech demo release.

At the end of the prototyping week I'll be returning my attention to Lab Rats 1 and the v0.13 update. v0.13 will focus on rebalancing much of the existing content and streamlining the gameplay as much as possible.

I would like to add something to make some scenes more likely to be good looking. If you made sure that characters appear in centre of a screen it would be great, next thing to change is how visible is note on which appears text, it should be transparent and text with rims or borders which could make it more visible. I know that you are one guy working on this big project, but I hope that you will find some time to add my sugestions. When you finish this game you should add it to game providers like steam or something like that but at the same time give a low price so it can find more people which would enjoy your work. ITS GREAT WORK!! GOOD LUCK!!

How does Daz compare to what you are currently using? I like SOME of the Honey-Slect models, but the stuff that the amateurs are doing in the F95 BB fan-art thread, is over-the-top, fantastic. I gave Daz a shot, and it was more work (and render time) than I wanted to put in, for just playing around in Ren'Py.

Rendering full scenes takes a lot if time, though. Considering the number of girls, different clothes, scenes and possible endings you'd probably need at least two PCs to do all the rendering needed. If You only render the girls and put them on background pictures, like You did now with the Honey Select girls, it wouldn't take as long, but You'd face the same problem as You do now, with only small pictures of the important things (girls getting sexed) on a large, mostly empty, background.

Will there actually be any male representation in the sequel? Lab Rats is great, but I think I'd really like it if the protagonist this time were someone other than Casper the friendly cumshot

Looking forward to both the promos for LR2, as well as 0.13 with the improved content. And for the record, I liked 0.12. Yes, the new training modes may have been a bit lacking in content compared to the others (and I know why they were), but there was still enough new content for me. So...nice job as always!
