Added 2017-02-17 06:41:50 +0000 UTCNow that v0.4.0 is out, I've got a few days to get all the bugs we've foudn fixed up for the public release of v0.4.1. During this down time between patron and public releases I'm cautious about making any major changes for fear of breaking something important at the last minute. It does, however, provide the perfect time to focus on some R&D for future updates, and adding content that I'm confident won't break the game.
Currently, I'm working on a new scene for Lily (Who's my go-to test character) that will be something like an extra large minor scene. One problem I've noticed since v0.3 is that all the minor scenes have the player as a passive participant. They may take charge during the scene, but it's impossible for them to be the one to initiate. This scene for Lily (Which i'm going to term a Hub scene for now) is entirely player initiated, and has more and more options unlocked as influence rises. It's also significantly larger than the other scenes in the game so far, with far more brances, because it should be a section of the game that will be explored frequently for new content. So far I'm liking how it's turning out, and may look into doing Hub scenes for every character over the next few updates.
Over the next few days I'm also going to be doing some more outfit work to inspire new ideas for potential endings (the focus of the upcoming v0.5) and new scenes in general. I'll put together a few posts and queue them up to release over my vacation so you have something to take a look at while I'm gone.

2017-02-19 05:33:17 +0000 UTCI know several people have commented that 4.0 is too hard. I do find it frustrating. I do really like the game but the resistance stat makes you look at it a whole new way.....which is good. The reintroduction of purple serum in the future could help it a lot. I do like that resistance can be dropped with minor scenes, but with the current version you can spend whole weekends watching porn hoping mom or Lily comes in or a lot of time napping under a tree hoping Steph wakes you up. Top end scenes with Alexia are the easiest currently to reach as the bus ride home doesn't cost you a time slot and you get a decent resistance drop from her first text pic of a given level. True top end Lily scenes are the toughest as you have to have mom influenced high enough, $500, and Lily high enough to have a decent scene. In other words forget about Lily's final major scene being much in 4.0. The three things I would like to see in future updates are... 1) A more reliable minor scene with mom early to lower her resistance. Early she won't wake you up and you're shooting dice on who(if anyone) will walk in on you watching porn. Lily you can go see and trigger a couple minor scenes and the rest of the girls you can get pics from...mom needs something besides a once a week payment(if you're helping with the bills) that's dependable. 2) The A/C going out early when you're trying to make serum(as you need a lot more of it now) ...not sure how to change that. Just one of those frustrating things. 3) Alexia is the easiest to reach the top tier of, but the money shot at the cafe is obscured by the text. Maybe move her up a bit of the page in the future ;-)

2017-02-18 10:31:55 +0000 UTC+1 to stuzzy. I really like lab rats but I find certain mechanics hold it back from being fun. Before it was that you could only use a serum once, now its resistance. I think there might be less annoying ways of slowing the player's progress. What though? I'm not sure.
2017-02-18 06:12:42 +0000 UTCresistance just drags the game down. It's too high. I mean the game has a time limit, resistance runs up too fast, and the serums are harder to make. too many roadblocks all at once in a game with a time limit. feels too far in the other direction from being too easy.

It would be nice to have more options with the characters for interaction, without serum, as you progress with them - with or without slim stat gains. Sounds like a great idea

2017-02-17 09:30:04 +0000 UTCI'm really appreciating the new UI work for .4, especially the stat keeping on the girls, but I've found myself missing the always on screen display of serum/inventory count. It could be very minimal, with just blue/red/purp/grey numbers, but I think they're central enough to gameplay that they should always be displayed (or least have an option to do so).
