More Event Writing Work

The last couple of days I have been busy writing even more content for the upcoming update for Lab Rats 2. All of the side tasks that my writing efforts had spawned that I mentioned in my last post have been finished. That means I now have ways of calling evets that trigger in the morning at the start of the day (previously all events triggered at the end of a time chunk, which meant there was no possibility for morning events before you left home). I also now have much more control over how you begin having sex. An event can now include a unique intro with a character then jump directly to the sex loop and skip the position/object picking and intro scene. This lets make use of the existing sex system while also writing unique situations and content when they are called for.

This update has also included a number of behind the scenes additions that will not be used for much in v0.15 but that I will be making use of in future updates for new content. Characters now have an internal "title" field which is the name you refer to them by rather than their proper first or last name. In the future characters will introduce themselves and give different preferred titles based on their relationship with you and their personality. Your mother would have the title "Mom", while you still refer to your sister as "Lily". As your relationship with someone they may give you new titles to refer to them by, or you may be able to assign new ones of your choice to them. There is also now basic internal support for girls taking the lead while having sex. Right now this is being tested in a single event with a new sex position (cowgirl) associated with it, but in the future it will be incorporated into the general sex system so that a girl can take charge of an encounter or voice her opinion about what she would prefer.

I spent a few hours looking at the rendering setup to see what could be done about the head/neck meshing issues. I tried a few unsuccessful techniques and have come to the conclusion that the current process needs to be updated to work properly a wider range of facial types. I will likely be experimenting with this during the prototyping week that follows the release of v0.15.0 and hope to have an improved system in place for v0.16.
