Adding Relationships to Lab Rats 2
Added 2019-09-17 06:42:01 +0000 UTCI've hammered out the basics of the intercharacter relationship system that will be coming out with v0.21, and I'm now working on integrating it with existing content in the game and writing new content that makes use of it. The basic idea is simple: I maintain a central list of all registered "relationships" in the game. A relationship has two people in it, a forward type, sometimes a reverse type, and a Boolean for if it's visible to the player or not. The reverse type is needed because some relationships are referred to differently depending on your perspective. For example, Jennifer is Lily's "mother", but Lily is Jennifer's "daughter".
Relationship types are going to be quite general, like "Acquaintance", "Friend", and "Best Friend". I will be using these broad types to write events into the game that either trigger only when two people have a certain relationship, or that take a different path depending on their relationship. I will also be adding in events that give you some influence over the relationship between two characters if they have met already.
I've got a lot of writing ahead of me, so that's my check-in for tonight! Back to work!

Hi Vren to minor glitch/game balance suggestions. 1) I asked Nora to take some serum, she replied "... I always wanted to be a scientist..." lol, I think this answer should be excluded from the random for Nora, Steph and for those who assigned (or were assigned before) in R&D job. 2) If i ask an employee to take the serum when the company policy applied its always 100%, i think it should limit when i asked them at workplace. It's weird that Sunday afternoon i met my employee in the mall and i can force them to test medicines just because they work for me. I think if they get asked outside work location the policy shouldn't apply and overwrite the normal chance.

2019-09-20 12:03:32 +0000 UTCI got i7 with 16gb ram, but its cooking my cpu. As soon as i start the game cpu usage goes over 50% and my fans satrts screaming for help. Not to mention last time after 4 hours of play it just got so laggy that closed itself and turn out autosav wasnt working at all, all grinding must be repeated. :(

2019-09-18 20:21:13 +0000 UTCOne thing Ive come across. If wearing underwear as main cloth needs high slutyness. That's natural. But transparency of cloths not affecting the cloth slutyness level. Therefore somebody can wear fully transparent cloths and underwear with minimal sluttiness.
